Main idea: The incarnation of Jesus announced by Gabriel reveals certain truths about God that call for certain postures of response to God.

    • God is gracious in extending his favor to the lowly (vv. 26-30)
    • God is faithful to keep his covenant promises (vv. 31-33)
    • God is powerfully able to accomplish the impossible (vv. 34-37)
  2. Two postures of response to God in light of the incarnation (Luke 1:38)
    • Service (v. 38a)
