Kevin Kennedy was born and raised in North Carolina. He attended Guilford College for two years, and after receiving a call to the ministry while there, he transferred to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he also met Jeanne, who agreed to be his wife.
Kevin served in churches in Roxboro and Durham, NC, while completing a MDiv at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Afterwards, an opportunity opened for him to teach at Liberty University for three years. His teaching experience there taught him that teaching was his calling, so he moved to Louisville, KY to complete a PhD in theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Shortly after graduating with his PhD, Kevin began teaching at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, where he taught for 13 years. Then, in 2015, Kevin and Jeanne returned to Louisville in order to be closer to their aging parents. They joined Franklin Street Baptist Church that year and Kevin began serving as an elder at Franklin Street in the spring of 2023.
